Pull straight ahead into the drive-in stall, place the speaker securely on your window, and then rally round the snack bar.. quick though.. only three minutes to the chessy b-flick.. er.. we mean, main feature starts! Or maybe you're more into the witching hour and things that go bump in the night when the monsters become live right before your eyes and run through the theatre, promising to give away a real dead body at every show? Remember the days of drive-in theatres? And shortly after "hard top" theatres started to come into your neighborhoods, something else incredibly fun was born for the baby boomers who were still watching the old Universal horror films on late night cable... Introducing the spook show.. where 10 cent comedians and wanna be vaudevillians would dress up in tails, call themselves Dr. Scare-A-Lot and hire 4 or 5 extras to wear bandages and play "the mummy" at a run down theatre at the stroke of midnight! Ahh yes, those were the days! The times of dancing candy boxes singing the praises of intermission time on the movie screen. The years when a 'black out' meant everyone would scream and be rowdy because of a spook show, not because the California electric company had a shortage. How do we hold on to these times gone by? Now you can relive some of this pop culture fun with this DVD filled with tons of rare drive-in intermission reels, snack stand promos, trailers, and even the cheesy teasers for live theatre spook shows! Here's what you get:

1.) Peter Max Pepsi Intermission Trailer
Psychedelic Peter Max animated 40 second trailer for Pepsi & other delicious (or so they said) snack stand concessions! Featuring trippy music and pink (not green) hot doggies! Color.

2.) Intermission 3 Minutes Trailer
Animated intermission trailer declaring there's a 3 minute intermission, during which the product placement is urging you to rush to the snack bar and fill your gut with gooey, sticky, and three day old yummies. Features the musical staff rainbow full of candy, pop corn and soda.. and a symphonic instrumental jingle! Color.

3.) Head To The Refreshment Stand Trailer
"The time is now.. the time is here.. for a bite of cheer" jingle plays over an animated vignette of a happy family each getting their junk food snack stand fix. 40 second promo, ends with "come on folks lets join the band as we all head for the refreshment stand". Color.

4.) 3 Minute Intermission Trailer
"This lil boy & this lil girl" jingle plays over this animated intermission trailer featuring another happy drive-in movie going family. Intermission promo is 40 seconds and announces there's 3 mins to show folks! Color.

5.) Enjoy The Show Folks Drive-In Trailer
This short drive-in movie promo was one of the bumpers the drive-in theatre would show going into the main feature. The intermission was tagged onto the opening of the film and simply had a short count down to show time and then said "Enjoy the Show Folks"! Black & white, partially animated.

6.) It's Time To Go Now Drive-In Trailer
This drive-in intermission was tacked onto the movie closing and was the last promo that the drive-in movie theatre played at the end of the time. This promo consists of a series of screens saying farewells such as "time to go home", "drive safely", "pleasant dreams" and "goodnight". This 30 second bumper also reminded customers to "please don't blow your horn as you leave" and "remember to return your speaker to the post before leaving"! Black & white, partially animated.

7.) Bottle Warmers At Concession Stand Trailer
This very short advertisement reminded moms at the drive-in that there were free bottle warmers available at the concession stands for the little bundles of joy.. who probably screamed through the whole double feature.

8.) Park At RKO Theatre For 40 Cents Trailer
This scrolling marquee drive-in movie trailer reminded visitors that there was 4 hours parking for 40 cents at available at the RKO Theatre down the street! 30 second promo, black & white.

9.) Let's All Go To The Lobby Trailer
This intermission reel is probably the most famous drive-in movie intermission trailer ever made. This full 40 second version of the "Let's All Go To The Lobby" intermission features the infamous parade of dancing candy, soda, & pop corn, making their way to the concession stand while singing, "Let's all go to the lobby.. to get ourselves a treat!" A true classic and favorite of anyone who remembers going to the drive-in! Color, animated.

10.) Live Theatre Spookshow Trailers
This is the real diamond in the rough of this collection. You get over 47 minutes straight of classic trailers & teasers from LIVE spook shows! Yes we're talking about spook shows with black outs, creatures running through the audience, dead body give aways, magicians, horror hosts, and stars live from Hollywood like Frankenstein, King Kong, The Mummy, and more! Yes, the whole she-bang is here! Most of these trailers are black and white and range from spookshows in the 50s to the 70s, including spooks shows that featured such films as "Frankenstein", "I Was A Teenage Werewolf", "King Kong", "How To Make A Monster", "The Screaming Skull", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and much more! Don't miss these spook show teasers including promos for spook shows featuring:

Dr. Bey Shan's Spirit Seance
The Monsters Who Crashed The Pajama Party Live Show
3 Super Shock Shows w/ Dr. Evil & The Mummy
Dr. Rome & His Chamber of Horrors
Dr. Zomb (Who Will Turn You Into A Zombie!)
Monster Maker Ray-Mond
The Fly & Spooks A Poppin
Dr. Satan & His Shrieks In The Night
Friday The 13th Jinx Show
The Hollywood Monster Show
The UFO Spook Show
Kara Kum of Hollywood
Lady Godiva
Satan's Daughter
Dr. Silkini's Giant Triple Scream Show w/ Garganta
Dr. Psycho
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (w/ guest star, Leatherface!)

These spook show trailers are 100% cheesy camp, exploitation, and classic Balleyhoo! Just watching these trailers and the fantastic claims they make bring you back, such as promises of giving away a real dead body at every show (a common spook show gimmick where they'd give away an uncooked chicken or something.. because technically, it is a dead body or a corpse! Haha!) Also don't miss the claims of the shows being terrifying enough to have to offer you health insurance, or a free ticket back to another show if you make it through the night alive! You just can't miss these!

11.) The Count Dracula Society Oath
Christopher Lee (of all people) and the Count guide you through the oath for The Count Dracula Society. This was a 'society' formed as a promotional vehicle for a Christopher Lee vampire film at the time, and to our knowledge The Count Dracula Society is still around today, celebrating Dracula films of all kinds! Become a member now.. take the oath!

12.) 3 Minute Rocky Horror Picture Show Trailer
Rare extended trailer for one of the biggest Fox flops, later turned hit thanks to cult movie audiences and other late night revelers who took slight leave of their mind in the interest of dressing in fishnets & throwing rice. The standard trailer for this film runs approx a min and a half to two minutes. This is an extended cut of the original motion picture trailer and runs a full three minutes in vibrant color. Direct from 1975!
