"Vampire Over London"!

That's right, you get a rare Old Mother Riley (Arthur Lucan) film on DVD! BUT BEFORE you dive into Arthur Lucan's madcap hysteria as Mother Riley in "Vampire Over London", don't miss the special bonus trailer for the film "The Lost Continent"! That's right.. you even get a bonus movie trailer! Kinda like being at a real theatre isn't it? After "The Lost Continent" trailer, onto the main feature: The "Mother Riley" series was a British made series of low budget comedies starring Arthur Lucan, who played, in drag, a dotty old working class woman. These films often satired stuffy British government, and how it handles it's lower working class. Now's your chance to get a DVD with one of these classic, hysterical Mother Riley flicks.
"Vampire Over London"
This Mother Riley film is perhaps one of the most well known. Originally released in England as "Mother Riley Meets the Vampire", the film was retitled "Vampire Over London" for it's American debut. Later in hopes to further market the movie, the film was retitled "My Son the Vampire" and the popular theme song "My Son the Vampire" by Alan Sherman was added! "My Son the Vampire" also went under many different aliases such as:
"Dracula's Desire"
Mother Riley Runs Riot
Old Mother Riley Meets the Vampire
Robot and the Vampire, The (proposed title)
Made in 1952 this was the last of the Mother Riley films and it was also the last chance to see the great Bela Lugosi in his full talent, as, of course, a vampire. Later that year, 1952, addiction and poverty sank in deeper, and he would turn to working with a certain Edward Wood Jr. This was the last of the Mother Riley films, and the only one that showcased Arthur Lucan as Mother Riley alone, without his wife Kitty McShane as the brooding and augmentative daughter of Mother Riley. This is the *same* film that was later known as "My Son, the Vampire". The only differences between this print and the later re-titled film is "Vampire Over London" features the original slate which displays the starring credits of Arthur Lucan and Bela Lugosi and the original title card for "Vampire Over London". As this was an EARLY version of the film, it does not feature the song "My Son, The Vampire" as that was later added when the title was changed for re-release in the States.
