The early years of television in the 50s and 60s brought us the most enjoyable television shows of all time! Corny, yes, but the charm these early shows had is undeniable, especially vintage children's shows! Now with this classic dvd you can relive your childhood and bask in the heavenly nostalgia of three vintage children's tv shows on beautiful quality dvd! Can't wait to walk down memory lane? Here's what you get:
"The Ed Wynn Show" starring the lovable Ed Wynn was an early comedy/variety show presented by the Camel Comedy Caravan. Ed Wynn plays a hassled host harrassed by special guest stars the Three Stooges (Moe, Larry, & Shemp) who play "CBS Executives" Mr. C, Mr. B, and Mr. S! The Stooges quickly get under Wynn's skin when they decide to change things and start cutting up the scenery... literally! The variety show was sponsored by Camel Cigarettes and includes all of it's original commercials! (Ahh the days of product placement!) Wynn has a skit selling cigarettes from a display of cigarettes at least 6 feet high. Guest star William Frawley drops in for a carton and wants the one on the bottom, but of course! Plus, don't miss out on the appearance of sultry torch singer Helen Forest who co-stars in this rare episode!
Second, you also get an episode of the hard to find kids show "Andy's Gang" starring Andy Devine! In this 1955 Saturday morning kids show Andy Devine, with a live studio audience full of loud screaming kids, would show movies such as "Monkey & the Python" which is the feature dujour in this episode. At the opening of the show Andy would introduce his puppet friend called "Froggy", but to get the frog to appear Andy and the audience would have to scream "Pluck your Magic Twanger, Froggy". Suddenly there's a big puff of smoke and the frog would appear... but the fun didn't end there.. oh no! Don't miss out on Andy's band of animals - yes real live animals - playing all kinds of instruments! And if that's not enough, "Andy's Gang" has it's share of celebrities in tow like June Foray (the famous voice actress behind Rocket J. Squirrel & Natasha from "The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show", Granny from "Syvester & Tweety" cartoons, & much much more!) who does the voice of Midnight the Cat in "Andy's Gang". As froggy would say, "HI-DEE, HI-DE, HI-DEE!"... you can't miss this classic episode of good ol' Andy's Gang!
But that's not all! Oh no! We saved the best for last with a classic episode of "The Paul Winchell Show" starring Paul Winchell, Jerry Mahoney, and Knucklehead Smiff! This episode is Paul & Jerry's very special Christmas episode! As the show opens, Paul is in his home baby sitting his neighbor's daughter Elizabeth. Trying to cheer Elizabeth up, Paul brings Jerry out to keep Elizabeth company... which soon leads to them breaking into song with the tune "Winter". (YES, even Jerry sings!) Then Elizabeth starts telling the story of "A Christmas Carol" which leads to thoughts (and tiny vinettes) of Christmas' past and future. Christmas past finds Paul as a little boy, showing his childhood friend one of his first puppets. His childhood clumsiness runs amuck though as he destroys his friend's Christmas decorations! Oh no! Fast forward to Christmas future which finds Paul and Jerry in a cheesy 50s campy sci-fi rocket ship skit a la Flash Gordon. The time is sometime in the future and the place is the moon, as travelers have advanced to having vacations on the moon! Paul and Jerry pack up for a vacation on the moon during Christmas, only to arrive and find out they don't have Christmas on the moon! In a hurry to leave, the moon men try to stop them... but Paul and Jerry eventually escape! In amidst all of this, don't miss the original vintage commercials included in the episode! You'll see two different classic Cheer commercials; one with Irene Manning and the second with Jean Sullivan.. both classic 50s moms! For a third hearty helping of product placement, settle in for a vintage Camay commercial with "news from Camay" about cold cream additive in Camay! Ahhh! The show wraps with a third segment with Paul and Jerry enjoying a winterland sleigh ride. After a sweet gift of classic Christmas bells from Paul to Jerry, the duo gives a heart warming rendition of Jingle Bells and delivers and sweetest of holiday wishes! Don't miss the final NBC slate featuring the original NBC logo & tone... ding ding ding!

Within a year of their first joint appearance, they were being touted as the new comedy team. After collaborating on many silent films, they took the transition to the talking film in stride. As their success spread throughout the world, they began making feature films as well and even won an Oscar for their short subject entitled "The Music Box" (1932). The boys defined comedy in the early days of cinema, and now you can rejoice in all the hilarious hijinx with this audio CD "Laurel & Hardy Rarities & Shorts... the CD!" "A Haunting We Will Go" Ameridisc Soundtrack transfer from 33 & 1/3 rpm rubber record.
In 1942 Stan and Oliver starred in "A Haunted We Will Go" alongside Dante the Magician (Harry A. Jansen). On the run from the law once again, Laurel and Hardy team up with a friendly magician and do battle with ubiquitous gangsters. In 1965 Americom released "A Haunting We Will Go" on 8 mm film. Along with the film which you played on your projector, a 33 & 1/3 rpm rubber record came with the film containing the audio. The idea was to play them both at the same time for video and audio, although they never quite synced up! This rare audio has long since been impossible to find! Now, you can hear that long lost audio on CD transfered from an original 1965 Ameridisc Sountrack 33 & 1/3 rubber record of "A Haunting We Will Go"! You can't miss this audio treat!
Rare 1932 Laurel & Hardy British Record.
A rare recording of Oliver Hardy giving a thank you speech for their warm reception to the British Isles. After their first trip to the British Isles, Laurel & Hardy recorded a special album thanking the public for the huge welcome they received. Hilarity insues when Stan continuously interrupts Olly during his speech. This thank you speech soon turns into a 6 minute and 50 second comedy skit!
This rare speech (AKA skit) is a TWO parter, ending with a dance version of their theme song "The Dance of the Cuckoos"!!
Instrumental Music from "Pardon Us", 1931.
(Features clip of the famous dialogue "Here's another nice mess you've gotten me into...")
Rare Instrumental Music from Laurel & Hardy Shorts!
"The Laurel & Hardy Radio Show: Mr. Slater's Poultry Market"
Presented by the National Broadcasting Company! Featuring PSAs (AKA propaganda) for taking the pledge against the Black Market during the war, this 26 minute radio show features Laurel & Hardy in a very rare radio appearance. The show was recorded during the war, and the plot of the show centers around the boys doing their bit to relieve the man power shortage by working for 'Mr. Slater's Poultry Market'. During the scheme of things, Stan and Olly come across a group of gangsters, who mistake Laurel & Hardy for the two gents who 'rubbed out' one of their fellow criminals. Thinking Laurel & Hardy are two tough cookies, the gangsters welcome the boys into their abode, while Babe & Stan think they're just delivering a serving of poultry!
Rare Instrumental Music from Laurel & Hardy Shorts!
"Trail Of The Lonesome Pine"
Sung by Oliver Hardy with accompanying vocals by Stan! Yes, the boys raise their voices in song together! A rare but classically hysterical number!
"Honolulu Baby"
Sung by Oliver Hardy once again! Very rare!
"Shine On Harvest Moon"
Sung by Oliver Hardy from the film "The Flying Deuces"! If you listen very carefully you can hear the stomps of Stan dancing in the background.. later to be joined by Olly as both the boys hoof a special dance to this little ditty!
